# Custom Connection | Xero | Overview

### Custom Connection Xero and SpyderFlow

- SpyderFlow Administrator turns on Xero integration in SpyderFlow.
- Xero Administrator and SpyderFlow work together to pass information from Xero to SpyderFlow for Webhook, Client ID and Secret key.

#### ** **Xero Checklist

- Purchase of Custom Connection Subscription, then add New App.
- Add Accounting Scopes to New App.
- Authorise and Accept by email and MFA.
- Allow access to SpyderFlow, Generate Xero Client ID and Secret key.
- Find and pass on: Xero Client ID and Secret key
- Enter Webhook URL from SpyderFlow to Xero.
- Find relevant Tax Codes to pass to SpyderFlow Administrator.

#### SpyderFlow Checklist

- Create New Integration Module with Xero see link [System Interface | Integration Modules | Create New](https://spydertech.net.au/docs/system-interface-integration-modules-create-new/)
- Receive and input Xero Client ID, Secret Key, Accounting Scopes, Tax Codes
- Copy and pass Webhook URL to Xero Admin.
- Check the connection is successful (between Xero and SpyderFlow for both directions)

1. Xero admin --> Purchase Custom Connection Subscription.
2. Xero Admin --> Create/Add a new app in Xero.
3. Xero Admin --> Scope Authorisation: Select Accounting Scopes.
4. Xero Admin --> Send Authorisation Email
5. Xero Admin --> Accept Authorisation email
6. Xero Admin --> Get code from Authenticator App (Xero MFA) to continue.
7. Xero Admin --> Allow SpyderFlow Access from Xero
8. Xero Admin --> Generate a Secret and Client ID inside Xero.
9. Xero Admin --> Copy and Pass on the Secret and Client ID to your company SpyderFlow Administrator.
10. SpyderFlow Administrator -->  Sets up New Integration Module Xero and copy Webhook URL to pass to Xero Admin.
11. Xero Admin-->  Enters the Webhook URL into Xero to connect to SpyderFlow.
12. SpyderFlow Administrator --> Check in SpyderFlow the connection is successful to Xero.
13. Xero Admin --> Give relevant Tax codes from Xero Admin.
14. SpyderFlow Administrator --> Add Tax Codes to SpyderFlow.
