# Settings | Fields | Create New

**To create a new field go to: Main Menu --> Settings --> Fields --> List of Fields --> Create New**

### **Create New Field**

- Fill in **Mandatory field details: Type, Value and Code**.
  - Example 1 - If this was not already created the details would be:
    - **Type** = Where is this field located and what is it for. For example if a field in Scopes and for Attachments area the type could be "Scope Attachment Type"
    - **Value** = What is it? Report, Warranty certificate, General item, Photo are some examples.
    - **Code** = Choose a code to assign, can be numerical or alphabetical
    - **Description =** Add a description, short or long that can assist users.
    - **Select checkboxes** for where the field should be shown, default settings etc.
    - **Order index** = if required (optional)
- Click Save when complete.
