As SpyderFlow is a customisable experience for your organisation there is some set up to plan and organise for workflows.
- One of these is for Fields (to set up for dropdown fields in workflows)
To do this you will need to check what is already system available and what you need to set up (configure)
List of Fields location
Go to: Main Menu –> Settings –> Fields –> List of Fields to see the fields that are system set and available to use
If the field you need is unavailable –> Create a New field see link: Settings | Fields | Create New
Example below in the Notes area of a Work Order
- Creating a Note in a work Order and the field for Alert type shows no results
- This field will need to be created with the results to display in dropdown for the user to select.

Check and see if a Field is Set up for this Work Order (Notes Tab –> Alert Type)
- Go to Main Menu –> Settings –> Fields –> List of Fields
- Search for the field ‘Note Alert Type’
- No results are available. Need to create new field for Note Alert Type. (This will then work for ALL workflow Note Alert type fields in SRQ, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Assets, Properties, Contractors, Clients etc)
To Create a New Field
Note! This can be completed for any fields you need to create in SpyderFlow.
- Choose +Create New

- Click Type and find the relevant option for the field
- Type = Note Alert Type (see pic 2 below)
- Name = Type a relevant name for eg I will type ‘General’ (For General Alert)
- Code = Type relevant code (can be alphabetic or numeric). I will type ‘GA’ for General Alert
- Optional description of what the field is and used for. Eg: Description could be “This is the details about what we would consider a general alert for if this needs to be looked at”
- Click the checkbox to make this default for the field. Or do not check the box and the option will just display in the dropdown.
- List position will be 1,2,3 order level of how the field will be displayed in the dropdown.
- Choose 1 if you want this field to be 1st in the drop down list.
- Once details complete (see pic 3 below) –> Click Save
