What are Scopes?
Scopes are the description of the proposed work on a property that needs to be validated before commencement.
- The stage in the workflow process to define work that will be either quoted on or directly done through a work order.
The Purpose of Scopes
To define what work may need to occur without committing to the work actually being undertaken:
- define exactly what is understood to be the work needed on the property.
- have an approved person validate that that work is required.
- Attach and issue any attachments (photos, documents) that are required to be considered as part of the scoping process.
- have the next stage of the process being either a quote or a work order approved before work commences.
Scopes work by identifying:
- As a minimum, the address of the property that has the proposed work to be undertaken.
- The due date for the scope to be completed and the company who the scope is being done on behalf of.
The actual items that define the work to be undertaken can either come from a predefined schedule of rates loaded into the system or as manual items which can be defined by the user when creating the work item. Scope items can be reviewed and ticked to show item is to be undertaken or crossed to show not required.
Once the review has been undertaken the scope can be
- cancelled.
- flowed to a quote to get pricing from multiple subcontractors.
- flowed directly to a work order to get the work underway.
- Or flowed to a invoice if the customer is required to pay for the scope before the next workflow step occurs.
